PairPlay
now playing for two
Drag the sliders. That's the whole app.
Built for the couch
what PairPlay actually doesTwo pairs, one click
Pick two devices, hit Start. PairPlay builds the combined output, switches your Mac to it, and gets out of the way. Your last pair is preselected next time.
A volume for each person
Two sliders, applied live while you drag. One of you likes it loud. The other would like to keep their hearing. Both of you win.
Stays in sync
Drift compensation keeps both Bluetooth streams aligned, so the explosion lands in both heads at the same moment.
Cleans up after itself
End the session and your old speakers come back, the combined device disappears. Even after a crash, PairPlay tidies up on next launch. Audio MIDI Setup stays exactly as it found it.
Lives in the menu bar
No Dock icon, no windows, no setup wizard. A small popover when you need it, a quiet icon when you don't. The icon turns amber while a session is running.
People, not device names
"Saad's AirPods Pro" shows up as just "Saad". Tap a name to change it — PairPlay remembers it per device, forever.
How it works
from install to opening creditsConnect both headphones
Pair both AirPods or Bluetooth headphones with your Mac the normal way, in System Settings → Bluetooth. Any two pairs work — they don't have to match.
Pick your two
Click the PairPlay icon in the menu bar. Both pairs are listed — select them. If you've done this before, they're already selected.
Start
One click on Start PairPlay. The lights dim, your Mac's sound now goes to both pairs, and whatever you play — Netflix, VLC, anything — plays for both of you.
Watch, adjust, end
Drag each slider any time, even mid-scene. When the credits roll, End PairPlay puts everything back exactly the way it was.
PairPlay collects nothing. No account, no analytics, no network calls. The names you set and your last device pair stay on your Mac. The app is sandboxed and sold only through the Mac App Store.
