Privacy Policy
Effective August 10, 2026
Khalas is built so that we know as little about you as possible. This page explains exactly what that means.
What we collect
Khalas has no accounts and no sign up. We do not collect, sell, or share your personal data with advertisers. The app uses privacy-respecting product analytics (see Analytics below) to understand which features are used, but never to identify you personally or to see which specific apps you have chosen to limit.
Your Screen Time selection
Which apps, categories, and websites you choose to limit is handled entirely by Apple's Family Controls framework. That selection is encrypted by Apple's FamilyActivitySelection system and Khalas cannot read which specific apps you picked โ only that a rule you configured has been triggered. This data stays on your device and, if you enable iCloud sync, in your private iCloud database managed by Apple.
Where your data lives
Your allowance, schedule settings, streaks, and progress history are stored on your device. If you enable iCloud sync, this data also syncs through your private iCloud account, protected by your Apple ID. That sync happens directly between your devices and Apple's servers โ it never passes through servers we operate.
Analytics
Khalas uses PostHog to understand anonymous, aggregate product usage โ for example, which onboarding step is confusing or how often a block is respected versus overridden. This is tied to an anonymous device identifier, never to your name, email, or Apple ID, and never includes which apps you have selected to block.
Subscriptions
Khalas subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store and managed on our behalf by RevenueCat. Payment details are handled entirely by Apple; we never see or store your card information. RevenueCat receives anonymized subscription status (such as active, trialing, or expired) to determine your access. See RevenueCat's privacy policy for details.
Third parties
The third parties involved are Apple (iCloud sync, Screen Time, App Store payments), RevenueCat (subscription management), and PostHog (anonymous product analytics). Apple's handling of your data is described in Apple's privacy policy.
Deleting your data
Reset your selections, allowance, and history inside the app's Settings at any time. Deleting the app removes all local data. To remove synced iCloud data, delete Khalas's iCloud data from iOS Settings under your Apple ID, iCloud, Manage Storage.
Children
Khalas is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
